FIRST VISIT · 00
What tests are done on a first visit, and what does it cost?
A first visit covers examination and explanation. You do not have to decide on treatment that day.
On your first visit, we look at your whole mouth with an oral examination and a panoramic X-ray, adding 3D CT, an intraoral scan or Q-ray (fluorescence imaging of decay) only when needed. We go through the results together on a monitor, explaining which tooth has a problem and why, and if treatment is needed we explain the fee for each item.
The first-visit consultation fee and the panoramic X-ray are covered by Korean national health insurance. The exact co-payment is explained at the reception desk once the tests have been decided.

IMPLANT
Implants
From a single implant to full-arch implants and bone grafts
IMPLANT · 01
How much does an implant cost at Joy Dental Clinic?
From KRW 900,000 — this fee includes the fixture, a custom abutment (the implant post) and the crown. The amount itemized for you at the consultation after a detailed diagnosis is the amount billed when treatment is finished.
The same implant figure can mean different things depending on what it includes. First check whether it is the price of the fixture (the implant screw placed in the jawbone) alone, or whether it also includes the abutment and the crown. Joy Dental Clinic Bongcheon publishes, from the outset, a base fee that bundles the fixture, custom abutment and crown.
You can choose the fixture from Neo (Korean), Osstem BA, Osstem SOI and Straumann BLX from Switzerland (SLA or SLActive surface). Surface treatment and fee differ by line, and whichever line you choose, the diagnostic and placement standards are the same.

-
Does the fee include the crown?
Yes. The base fee, from KRW 900,000, includes the custom abutment and the crown.
-
Is the abutment (post) charged separately?
No. The custom abutment is included in the base fee and is not charged separately.
-
If a bone graft is needed, how much is added?
Bone graft KRW 150,000–500,000, sinus lift KRW 500,000–1,000,000. Whether it is needed is decided after we look at the deficient area together on the 3D CT, and we tell you the amount before surgery.
Differences between fixture lines, seen through surface technology
Set the brand names aside and look only at surface technology, and the differences become clear. The implant surface is the technology involved in how quickly bone attaches. Joy Dental Clinic Bongcheon offers both Straumann surfaces, SLA and SLActive — which one suits you is decided not by budget but by bone quality and healing conditions.
Healing periods in manufacturer data and studies are average figures and do not guarantee when an individual’s treatment will be completed.
In short, Implants at Joy Dental Clinic Bongcheon are offered at a base fee from KRW 900,000 that includes the abutment and crown, and the fees for cases that need bone grafting are all published below.
ALL-ON-X · 02
How is the cost of full-arch implants (All-on-X) made up?
Even if you have lost all or most of your teeth, you can choose between a removable denture and fixed implants.
All-on-X restores all the teeth in one jaw (upper or lower) by placing 4–8 implants in that jaw and connecting a single-piece fixed prosthesis on top. Unlike a denture you take out to clean, it stays fixed in the mouth, and fewer implants are placed than when each tooth gets its own implant.
The final prosthesis comes in two types. Full zirconia is made as a single-piece zirconia bridge; zirconia + Ti milled bar places a zirconia bridge on a framework milled from titanium (the milled bar), so that the metal framework also shares the chewing force. We decide by looking at biting force, the opposing teeth and how easily you can care for it.
- Base fee
- Lower jaw from KRW 8,000,000 (4 implants) · upper jaw from KRW 9,000,000 (6 implants) · upper and lower jaws from KRW 15,500,000 — full zirconia, Osstem BA fixtures
- Additional implants
- KRW 200,000 per implant when more than the standard number are placed depending on bone condition
- Included
- Implant placement · provisional prosthesis connected right after placement · final prosthesis
- Separate
- Extraction · bone graft · sinus lift — only when needed
- Health insurance
- Full-arch implants in a jaw with no teeth are not covered by Korean national health insurance · complete dentures are covered once every 7 years for people aged 65 and over
- Final cost
- After checking bone volume and the position of the nerve canal and maxillary sinus on 3D CT, we decide the number of implants and the prosthesis type and tell you the fee for each stage before surgery.
| Item | Unit | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| Entire lower jaw (mandible) — full zirconia / zirconia + Ti milled bar · 1 arch | 1 arch | KRW 8,000,000 / KRW 8,500,000 |
| Entire upper jaw (maxilla) — full zirconia / zirconia + Ti milled bar · 1 arch | 1 arch | KRW 9,000,000 / KRW 9,500,000 |
| Entire upper and lower jaws — full zirconia / zirconia + Ti milled bar · Upper + lower | Upper + lower | KRW 15,500,000 / KRW 16,000,000 |
| Additional implant beyond the standard number · 1 implant When more than 4 implants in the lower jaw or 6 in the upper jaw are placed, depending on bone condition | 1 implant | KRW 200,000 |
The fees below are starting base fees with Osstem BA fixtures, for cases that need no bone graft. When conditions allow, a provisional prosthesis is connected within a few days of placement to shorten the time you go without teeth. When comparing quotes, first check the number of implants, the fixture manufacturer, the prosthesis material and whether a provisional prosthesis is included.
BONE GRAFT · 03
When is a bone graft fee added, and how much?
Whether bone is lacking is something you can check on the 3D CT screen, not just hear in words. It is added only when needed, and only as much as needed.
An implant lasts when there is enough jawbone to hold the fixture. If the bone is too narrow or too low, the site must be prepared first. A bone graft fills in or builds up deficient bone; a sinus lift is surgery that raises the floor of the empty space above the upper molars (the maxillary sinus) to gain bone height. Socket preservation fills the site of an extracted tooth with graft material so that the bone does not collapse.
| Item | Unit | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| Bone graft (simple) · 1 site When graft material only needs to be packed into an extraction site or defect | 1 site | KRW 150,000 |
| Bone graft (standard) · 1 site When graft material must be placed on the outer side of the existing bone and allowed to settle | 1 site | KRW 300,000 |
| Bone graft (complex) · 1 site When active bone augmentation beyond the outer side of the existing bone is needed and the barrier membrane must be fixed with pins or screws | 1 site | KRW 500,000 |
| Sinus lift (crestal approach) · 1 site | 1 site | KRW 500,000 |
| Sinus lift (lateral approach) · 1 site | 1 site | KRW 1,000,000 |
| Socket preservation (simple) · 1 tooth | 1 tooth | KRW 300,000 |
| Socket preservation (complex) · 1 tooth When bone around the extraction site is lacking and more graft material is needed | 1 tooth | KRW 500,000 |
Whether it is needed and how much is explained while we look at the deficient area together on the 3D CT, and the fee for each item is given before surgery.

DENTURE · 04
How much do dentures cost, and how far does health insurance cover them?
If you are 65 or over, we first check eligibility for a health-insurance denture (once every 7 years, 30% co-payment). The fees below apply when a denture is made outside the health insurance criteria.
A denture is a prosthesis made from impressions of the remaining teeth and gums, and it falls within the specialty of a board-certified prosthodontist. We first examine whether the remaining teeth can be saved, then decide whether a complete denture, partial denture or implant denture is right.
- Health insurance
- Aged 65 and over · both complete and partial dentures once every 7 years for the same jaw · 30% co-payment · relines and repairs also have covered items
- Non-covered
- When not eligible for health insurance or when a new denture is made within the coverage interval · implant dentures
| Item | Unit | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| Complete denture (non-covered) · 1 arch | 1 arch | KRW 1,700,000 |
| Partial denture (non-covered) · 1 arch | 1 arch | KRW 1,700,000 |
| Implant denture (overdenture) · 1 arch | 1 arch | KRW 2,000,000 |
Denture fees are per jaw (1 arch). For implant dentures, the fee is for making the denture; implant placement follows the implant items above.
CROWN · 05
How do crown prices differ by material and position?
Even for the same crown, front teeth and molars are judged differently — for front teeth we look first at color and translucency, for molars at biting force.
Molars must withstand biting force, so we mainly use high-strength zirconia. Front teeth show when you smile, so we also look at color matching with the neighboring teeth. For a gold crown, the material cost of the gold used is added to the base fee at that day’s market price.
| Item | Unit | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| Zirconia crown (posterior · molar) · 1 tooth | 1 tooth | KRW 500,000 |
| Zirconia crown (anterior · front tooth) · 1 tooth | 1 tooth | KRW 600,000 |
| PFM crown (porcelain-fused-to-metal) · 1 tooth | 1 tooth | KRW 450,000 |
| Gold crown · 1 tooth | 1 tooth | KRW 600,000 |
Prosthesis fees are per tooth. If a post and core is needed after root canal treatment, the core items below apply.
In short, Before recommending a crown, we first check whether a less invasive method (resin or inlay) is enough.
RESIN · INLAY · 06
Treating a cavity: will resin do, or is an inlay needed?
The size and depth of the cavity decide the method — small ones with resin on the same day, larger ones with an inlay, and if it reaches the nerve, root canal treatment followed by a crown.
Resin treatment removes only the decayed part and fills it with tooth-colored material, finished the same day. We divide the fee by location and size and publish each item separately rather than lumping them together under the single name “resin”. An inlay is used for decay too large to seal with resin but not worth crowning: a restoration made from an impression is bonded in place.
When the neck of the tooth near the gum (cervical area) is worn away or sensitive, we fill it with Bond-fill, with a 5-year warranty conditional on attending regular checkups.
- Health insurance
- Resin fillings in permanent teeth of children aged 12 and under are covered · glass ionomer fillings are covered · resin and ceramic inlays for adults are non-covered
| Item | Unit | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| Resin — cheek-side surface · molar chewing surface (small area) · 1 tooth | 1 tooth | KRW 100,000 |
| Resin — cheek-side surface · molar chewing surface (large area) · 1 tooth | 1 tooth | KRW 250,000 |
| Resin — decay between teeth · 1 surface | 1 surface | KRW 250,000 |
| Bond-fill — resin at the neck of the tooth (cervical area) · 1 tooth | 1 tooth | KRW 150,000 |
| Ceramic inlay · 1 tooth | 1 tooth | KRW 350,000 |
Decay between teeth is charged per surface.
POST-ENDO · 07
Why is a core needed after root canal treatment?
A tooth that has finished root canal treatment is hollow inside, so before a crown goes on, the inside must be filled to build up a core.
Root canal treatment removes the nerve and blood vessels inside the tooth. Afterwards the inside of the tooth is left empty, and if a crown is simply placed on it, biting force can crack it down to the root. If enough tooth remains, the inside is filled with resin to build a core (resin core); if little tooth remains, a post is first placed inside the root for reinforcement.
| Item | Unit | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| Resin core · 1 tooth | 1 tooth | KRW 50,000 |
| Post · 1 tooth When little tooth remains and a post must be placed inside the root for reinforcement | 1 tooth | KRW 80,000 |
Root canal treatment itself is covered by Korean national health insurance. The extent of reinforcement needed is explained after checking how much tooth remains.
AESTHETIC · 08
Gapped front teeth and laminate veneers: what do they cost?
For gaps or the shape of front teeth, we first see whether they can be closed with resin without grinding the teeth.
When the front teeth are spaced apart (diastema), or when the gums have receded and a dark triangular gap (black triangle) has formed between teeth, resin can be added to close it without grinding the teeth. When the color or shape needs a bigger change, we consider laminate veneers, which are bonded after thinly reshaping the front surface of the teeth.
| Item | Unit | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| Front-tooth resin — closing a diastema (gap between front teeth) (Bioclear method) · 1 surface | 1 surface | KRW 500,000 |
| Front-tooth resin — filling a black triangle (dark gap between teeth) · 1 site | 1 site | KRW 250,000 |
| Laminate veneer · 1 tooth | 1 tooth | KRW 500,000 |
Aesthetic treatment aimed at improving color or shape is non-covered by Korean national health insurance. We decide the number of teeth by looking together at the range visible when you smile, and do not fix the number before a diagnosis.

WHITENING · 09
Teeth whitening: why do program prices differ?
Programs are divided by the number of sessions — from a single one-day trial to an intensive 3-day course; the right one depends on the degree of staining and the brightness you want.
Professional whitening applies a high-concentration agent and activates it with a light unit (Osstem BeauTis Light). What affects the result more than the number of sessions is whether the discoloration is staining on the tooth surface or discoloration inside the tooth. A tooth that has darkened from the inside after root canal treatment does not lighten with whitening from the outside, so non-vital whitening, which uses an agent inside the tooth, is applied separately.
| Item | Unit | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| Basic whitening (1 session in 1 day) · 1 day | 1 day | KRW 90,000 |
| One-day whitening (3 sessions in 1 day) · 1 day | 1 day | KRW 180,000 |
| Standard whitening (1 session a day × 3 days) · 3 days | 3 days | KRW 230,000 |
| Premium whitening (3 sessions a day × 3 days) · 3 days | 3 days | KRW 500,000 |
| Non-vital whitening (root-canal-treated tooth) · 1 tooth | 1 tooth | KRW 150,000 |
| Home whitening (home bleaching) · 1 set | 1 set | Explained at consultation |
Whitening fees (including non-vital whitening) exclude VAT. Results may vary depending on the condition of the teeth.
TMJ · 10
TMJ appliances and Botox: what do they cost?
If the jaw only makes sounds, we do not recommend an appliance or injections. When there is pain or catching, we decide after checking mouth opening and muscle condition.
Treatment is provided by a certified member of the Korean Academy of TMJ and Occlusion. A bruxism/TMJ splint is an appliance worn during sleep to reduce the force on the teeth and joints; an ARS splint gradually shifts the position of the lower jaw, so adjustment at set intervals while wearing it is essential. When clenching force is strong, we also consider Botox in three chewing muscles (masseter, temporalis, medial pterygoid).
- Health insurance
- Examination, X-rays, physical therapy and prescriptions are covered · an occlusal splint is covered when criteria such as a TMJ disorder diagnosis are met
| Item | Unit | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| Bruxism / TMJ splint (occlusal splint) · 1 appliance | 1 appliance | KRW 550,000 |
| ARS splint (anterior repositioning splint) · 1 appliance | 1 appliance | KRW 750,000 |
| TMJ Botox — 3 jaw-closing muscles (masseter + temporalis + medial pterygoid) — Hitox / Coretox · 1 session | 1 session | KRW 150,000 / KRW 200,000 |
Splint fees apply when treatment falls outside the health insurance criteria (non-covered). Botox fees include VAT.

Q & A
Frequently asked questions about fees
Is the amount shown the final amount?
It is the base fee for each item. If additional procedures such as a bone graft or core are needed, those items are added, and before treatment starts we explain the fee for each item and proceed after obtaining your consent.
What does the implant fee include?
The fixture, custom abutment and crown are included: Neo KRW 900,000, Osstem BA KRW 1,000,000, Osstem SOI KRW 1,200,000, Straumann BLX SLA KRW 1,390,000 and SLActive KRW 1,490,000. Bone grafts, sinus lifts and the like are separate, only when needed.
Does the implant fee include bone grafting?
It is separate: bone graft KRW 150,000–500,000, sinus lift KRW 500,000–1,000,000, socket preservation KRW 300,000–500,000. Whether it is needed is decided after checking the bone together on 3D CT.
Can I get implants covered by health insurance?
If you are 65 or older and at least one natural tooth remains, Korean national health insurance covers up to two implants in a lifetime with a 30% co-payment. If no teeth remain at all, it is not covered. We check whether you qualify at diagnosis.
How long is the warranty?
Implant fixtures: Straumann 10 years, Osstem SOI 7 years, Osstem BA 5 years, Neo 3 years; implant prostheses 2 years; Bondfill 5 years. This assumes you come for regular checkups at the intervals we advise. The warranty period does not guarantee treatment results or lifespan.
Are dentures covered by health insurance?
For people aged 65 and over, both complete and partial dentures are covered once every 7 years for the same jaw, with a 30% co-payment. The denture fees in the fee table are for dentures made outside the health insurance criteria.
Is a core always needed after root canal treatment?
A tooth that has had root canal treatment is hollow inside, so it often needs reinforcement before a crown. We check how much tooth remains and explain whether a resin core is enough or a post is needed.
Why do whitening programs differ in price?
They differ by number of sessions, from Basic (1 session) to Premium (9 sessions over 3 days). The suitable program depends on the degree of staining and the brightness you want, and teeth that have had root canal treatment receive non-vital whitening separately.
- The amounts shown are the same as the fee schedule posted in the clinic, and we do not run discounts or promotional prices.
